Update

We had fun last week with our jug band.  They were all so cute playing their instruments and moving to the music.  We LOVE their enthusiasm.  This week we are going on our field trip to Ted Brown Music. This will so much fun.  They set up stations so the kids can see, hear and touch lots of different instruments.  We are leaving at 1:30 and will be back at 2:40.  The students will have to get out of their 3rd hour class a few minutes early and meet in the entry way right at 1:30 so we can be at Ted Brown's by 1:45 to start the tour.  Please get a permission slip off the web site or I will have them to sign during lunch.  I know we're still getting the kinks out of the field trip procedure and I'm sorry the permission slips weren't given out last week.  The process will get smoother with each field trip.

Today's class

Oh, darn!  My daughter is sick and can't come today to sing and play her ukulele.  We'll put that off until February when she can make it again.  Today we will listen to Peter and the Wolf.  It's a fun cd that tells the story of Peter and the Wolf with musical instruments and narration.  It's a long time favorite.

Adventures in Music

I hope your children are loving our adventures in music.  I know I'm loving it!  We have played kazoos, we learned to play music with a comb and wax paper, we've listened to Mozart and lots of other great things!

This week we are taking a trip to the islands (no permission slip required).  My daughter, Eryn, is coming to sing and play the ukulele.  The students will sing along!  How about a little Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii!  We'll sample one of my favorite Hawaiian treats and maybe try a little dancing!  Have you been to Hawaii or having any pictures or memorabilia?  We'd love to see it.

We'll see everyone Thursday for another great adventure!!!!
